Management Team

Larry Folk

Folkstone Homes LLC. was formed by myself, Larry Folk in March of 2005.  I am a State of Ohio registered Architect with over 35 years of experience in the home building industry.  I have been operating my own architectural practice, Larry Folk Architects, LLC. full time since 1994.  I started in the home building industry in 1971 prior to graduating from The Ohio State University School of Architecture in 1973.  I worked for Robert Hohl & Company, at that time the best known residential designer in the Columbus, Ohio area, from 1971 until August 1982.

My job duties included overseeing other personnel and I was the lead draftsman that managed projects on my own.  During this time M/I Homes was a startup company and we provided them with their architectural support.

In 1982 I left Robert Hohl & Company and went to work for Wendy’s International in the engineering department. I worked there from 1982 until April 1994.  During this time, I was still providing residential planning for a variety of local builders on a part-time basis.

In 1994 I became a registered Architect in Ohio and I decided to open my own architectural practice.

I provide home designs to many local custom and production home builders in addition to individuals that aren’t working with a builder.  I am running my architectural practice concurrently while operating Folkstone Homes.

My plan with Folkstone Homes is to design and build a few spec. and custom homes per year that are superior to what other home builders are offering today and to turn my non-builder design clients into design/build clients.

In order for me to run both companies I have hired my son, Kevin Folk to be my Production Manager

for Folkstone Homes.

Kevin Folk

Kevin received an Associate degree in Construction Management from The Columbus State Community College in 2001.  He actually started working in the construction industry in 1998 for the Righter Company.  His position there was Project Manager/Estimator.

Kevin went to work for Sovereign Homes in 2002. Sovereign Homes was, and still is, one of my architectural builder clients that specializes in production home building.  He held the position of Estimator.

In 2005 Kevin went work for another one of my builder clients that is a custom home builder.  He handled estimating, contract negotiating with subcontractors, field supervision and scheduling.
